Southeast Asian Ombudsman Forum (SEAOF) was hosted by the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia on the 8 November 2023 in Yogyakarta and was attended by the Ombudsman of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Ombudsman of the Republic of the Philippines and other delegations. The delegation of Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia was led by Mr. Mokhammad Najih, the Chairman of the Ombudsman of the Kingdom of Thailand was led by Mr. Somsak Suwansujarit, the Chief of Ombudsman of the Philippines was led by Mr. Samuel Martires, the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice of Timor Leste was led by Mr. Virgilio da Silva Guterres, the Ombudsman of New Zealand was led by Mr. Peter Boshier, the Commonwealth Ombudsman of Australia was led by Mr. Iain Anderson, the Ombudsman of Hong Kong was led by Ms Winnie Chiu and the Public Complaints Bureau of Malaysia was represented by Ms RB Sriprasanthi Balakrishnan.
SEAOF is an independent regional platform for cooperation of Ombudsman Institutions and Public Complaint Agencies that was established on 8 December 2020, with objectives to enhance their capacity, to exercise legal mandates, to jointly develop a coordinated complaint-handling mechanism within the jurisdiction of member institutions, and to undertake cooperation in areas of common interest.
