Sabak Bernam Mesra Program

Mesra Sabak Bernam Sabak Bernam, 6th September 2014 – The Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) of Selangor’s MESRA program was held in the Dewan Seri Bernam, Sungai Besar, Selangor. This program was jointly organized by the State PCB and Sabak Bernam District Council. Mrs. Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin, Deputy Director General of the Public Complaints Bureau launched the program.

The program was also attended by Mr Awaluddin Zakaria, the Acting President of the Sabak Bernam District Council and Mr. Jasman Syazry Mohd Saari, Chief Assistant District Officer of Sabak Bernam and Mr. Abdul Razak Abdul Latif, Director of the Selangor PCB. 20 representatives from government departments and agencies participated in this program namely the Department of Road Transport, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Land Public Transport Commission and the National Registration Department.



In addition to receiving the complaint, a very engaging dialogue session between the government departments and the public was also organized chaired by Mr Awaluddin Zakaria. 283 locals attended this program including the Heads of Departments, NGOs and community leaders. The Selangor PCB recorded 20 complaints during the program.



Among the issues raised was the issue of Sungai Karang Forest Reserve, social problems, illegal workshops, poor maintenance of the infrastructure facilities and damage caused by heavy vehicles to the roads. The responses from the local residents were very encouraged and they want this program to continue in the future.
